RAVENNA at Lawo.

Revolutionary technology for everyday use:

RAVENNA brings IP to your mixing console.

As a solution for real-time distribution of audio and other media content within IP-based network environments, RAVENNA* is a revolution for our industry. Already now, RAVENNA fully supports AES67-based stream exchange with other networking systems, but provides superior functionality in terms of control, performance, flexibility and applicability.

RAVENNA at Lawo consists of two add-on cards enabling the creation of a consistent audio network. Through it, we provide you with the means to profit from this revolution. Now, you can use this innovative IP technology during everyday productions in combination with our mc² consoles and the Nova73 HD routing matrix.

Lawo provides two RAVENNA slot-in cards: the I/O card for the HD-Core, and the master card of the DALLIS I/O system. The I/O card presents the Lawo router with its door to the proverbial RAVENNA world, while the DALLIS master card is its counterpiece on the Lawo DALLIS stagebox’ side.

The RAVENNA HD-Core implementation is of high capacity, high quality and with an absolutely low latency profile of 1 sample.

RAVENNA provides more channels at lower cost.

When compared to MADI connections, the RAVENNA implementation provides one significant advantage: the number of available channels has been increased from 64 to 128, providing twice the package density. During operations, RAVENNA always provides its full capacity of 128 channels, regardless of whether the clock frequency is 48 kHz or 96 kHz.

Some additional benefits: When connecting different devices — for instance, two mixing consoles or one mixing console and a routing matrix — RAVENNA impresses with a bandwidth of 256 channels per port. Speaking of connections: exchangeable SFP modules allow for almost all possible cabling options, or CWDM application. Therefore, cost-effective CAT cables can be used just as well as single or multi mode fibre ones. This enables the realization of cabling over varying distances, while the associated costs can be better managed.

Increased efficiency

RAVENNA is a great tool to help you save important resources. Thanks to its increased package density, less stageboxes are required, saving both space and money. RAVENNA increases efficiency for your everyday operations in terms of handling, space requirements, and finances.
