Lawo moved into new buildings.

Company's ground floor doubled.

On 13th January 2010, with numerous members of staff and guests present, Lawo celebrated the opening of a new building at their head office in Rastatt, Germany. Construction of the new building commenced in May 2009; the investment was around five million Euros. Following seven months of building time, the Production, Mechanical Engineering and Warehouse departments took only three days to ‘move house’; the Product Management and Management departments will follow in the spring. The new facilities, directly adjoining the existing premises, have expanded the ground floor to double its size (from 3500 m² to 7000 m²). The additional space is mainly designed to achieve an even more efficient manufacturing process, with a significant increase in capacity.

“Erecting this building was a real ‘tour de force’. It is the largest expansion in the company’s history and is a clear commitment to this location, and to the preservation and growth of jobs,” emphasises CEO Philipp Lawo. The company, celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, employs 185 staff worldwide – 160 in Rastatt alone, where the R&D and Production departments have been based right from the start.

Vertical integration used in the manufacturing process – from market-orientated product development to the scheduling, construction and production of the completed product – ensures a high quality standard for the products, thanks to the test routines incorporated in every phase of the manufacturing process. Lawo has always put much emphasis on continuously improving their products, and developing new features and new products. The company’s driving innovation was recognised with a Silver award at the 2008 German Economy Innovation Awards.
